For ceramic Artist Fran Chorost, the recipient's enjoyment is also the most important part of her art. "I like to concentrate on the people who want something pretty and special special for there family and can't afford the most expensive," "she say's. "I've always tried to create things keeping in mind that there are people who can't afford to buy $200 plates but would like to have a plate that's $40 or $50, or even less. So they too can have a nice Shabbat dinner and have it look beautiful for their children."
Fran Chorost grew up in Brooklyn, introduced at an early age to color and style by her mother, an interior decorator. She worked on art projects as a child and then as an adult. "Even though I had a job and other things, this took away the stress."
They offer unfinished pieces ready to complete with or without her instruction, as well as finished work ranging from Southwestern art to Judaica such as Shabbat plates, menorahs, and mezuzahs, which can be custom-made.
